Basic Stringing Classes
All of the above classes use techiniques that incorporate lampwork beads. I use these almost every day. It is just another way to enhance your beautiful bead work. Let me take you to the next level to create the most unique jewelry around! If you have any particular technique you would like to have me teach, please, just ask me! If I know how to do it, I'll teach it!
Beginner Class
In this class we will concentrate on learning how to pull stringer and make twisties. These are decorative elements that are imperative for decorating your beads. We will learn how to make a basic donut bead. Time will be spent on learning the saftey issues of working with hot glass and fire. We will talk about the different types of glass that is available to the lampworker of today. We will use frit and make different shapes of beads. Students will be encouraged to use their imagination and explore all the posibilities this wonderful medium has to offer.
Intermediate Lampwork Class
In this class I will take you into the world of sculptural lampworking as I know it. You'll learn how to make sculptural florals (orchids, hydrangia's, lily's) and fish. I'll show you different methods of encasing. We'll also use some of the fun and innovative brass “presses” and learn how to make different shapes for those focal beads by using a masher, marver and various other tools.
Advanced Classes
We will work on hollow beads, making lattichino, "painting" on beads using specialized canes, we will make murrini and an introduction to the wonderful world of using PMC and or sterling tubing to your beads.
