10/11/07 This is a scene I drive by every time I go to town. I believe this boat has been stuck here since the big earth quake in 1964. If I had a dollar for every time this has been photographed, I'd be a rich woman!
10/3/07 This group of photo's are from our yearly drive out the Glenn Highway. The only way to get to Canada or back to the lower 48 from here. This is Bonnie Lake.
As you can see, the further we got into elevation the grayer it got, the leaves were already off and snow had fallen. These are the Chugach Mountains.
9/11/07 These are from our road trip to the foothills of the
Alaska Range. Mt. McKinley or Denali, as us locals call it, is located in this range. The 2nd photo is where we had lunch. Out in the middle of nowhere. The food was pretty good!
This next collection of photo's are from the Talkeetna Mountains. We went hiking at Hatcher Pass and up to Summit Lake. Another gorgeous day trip!
These were taken fall 2006. We always take a drive out the Glenn Highway along the Matanuska River/Glacier. The mountains are the Chugach & Talkeetna Ranges.

This little cabin is sinking in the permafrost. Notice the poles on the left where someone was trying to hold the place up!
This is part of the Knik Glacier. We took an airboat to get to the face of it. And, what a ride that is!

This is the Knik Arm, the tide has gone out and these are silt/mud flats. They are very dangerous and are like quicksand. You don't ever want to go in there
